Competition & sales yards — records buyers trust, a yard that runs itself
Competition and sales yards live on good records: a passport that's in order, vaccinations that meet the rules, a horse that trots up the same as last month, and a buyer who can see all that before they make the trip. Horsepower keeps those records with each horse and turns them into a private sale page in a couple of taps.
What competition and sales yards use most
- Private sale and loan links — Turn a horse's share link into a sale or loan page with a price (or price on request), a description and an end date. Buyers ask for a trial ride from the link, without an account, and you get their contact details.
- Trot-up videos — Dated clips of each horse trotted up in hand, with a note each and filming tips so every clip is shot the same way. Compare two side by side.
- Vaccinations that meet the rules — Every jab with its date, product and vet, next due dates that move on as you log them, and a free checker for FEI, British Equestrian, USEF and racing rules.
- Passport details from a photo — Photograph the passport's ID page and Horsepower reads the name, breeding, microchip and UELN for you to check and keep, with the photo filed under the horse.
- Shared yard calendar — Shows, schooling, lessons, vet and farrier rounds in one calendar the whole team sees, with rider and horse suitability flags.
- Horseboxes and trailers — MOT, insurance and service reminders for every vehicle, in miles or kilometres.
Selling without sending ten emails
A buyer wants the passport details, the vaccinations, some video and the price. A sale link puts the horse's page, photos and trot-ups behind one private address that only the people you send it to can open — there's no public marketplace and it stops working on the date you choose.
When a buyer asks to come and try the horse, the request lands on the calendar for the yard's managers, and the owner and managers get an email with the buyer's details to reply to.
Running a show or clinic too?
Shows, clinics and camps can take entries and payment online, with classes, fees, entry limits and a running order with times. Card payments go into your own Stripe account.
What it doesn't do
Horsepower doesn't enter competitions for you or track results and points, and Horsepower doesn't assess soundness from a trot-up — that's always your vet's call. The sale links are private pages you send to buyers, not adverts on a marketplace.
Questions
Can anyone find my sale horses?
No. A sale link only opens for people you send it to, and you can give it an end date. There's no public listing.
Do buyers need an account?
No. A buyer opens the link, sees the horse and can ask for a trial ride straight from the page.
Does it check a horse is sound?
No. Trot-up videos are a dated record to compare over time and to show buyers. Horsepower doesn't assess movement; if you're worried, call your vet.
